HP Pavillion x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have lost the wifi adapter i.e. it is not disabled or enabled but no longer available.

Running HP Support Tools does not work as there appears to only be an ethernet connection available so that is all that is checked.

Re-booting until now resolved the problem (4-5 times) but this now no longer works.

Are you able to go online with the Ethernet?

Is the wireless Card missing in Device Manager?

Please connect the Ethernet and download the Microsoft Troubleshooter and follow the onscreen instructions Link: http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/E/7/FE74974A-9029-41A0-9EB2-9CCE3FC20B99/NetworkDiagnostics...

Keep me posted how it goes 😊

Link doesn't work - I have searched on the Microsoft site and the advice appears to be to update the wireless driver. I can connect by other means and did an auto update for Intel( R) Dual Band Wireless AC3165 - latest driver already installed. Please advise of next steps? Wifi device is currently available following a reboot. Thanks.

The adapter is available again following another re-boot. I am trying to fix the underlying fault.

I am still waiting for suggestions as to what I can do to diagnose and fix the issue. Your link did not work but I have checked the drivers for Intel( R ) Dual Band Wireless AC3165 and have the latest version. What can I do next?

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

I ran Windows Updates and HP Support Assistant on 7 August; when that didn't identify the problem I posted the issue here.
