So my ethernet is working completely fine. However my laptop is not detecting the Wifi Adapter at all or any wifi. I tried to go through some solutions researched online but none worked out.
I was able to see the Realtek RTL8188EE bgn adapter when I looked at my hidden items in the device manager. I attempted to uninstall the drivers for the adapter, so it could reinstall on restarting but it didn't work. And now it's not seeing the adapter at all. Also the adapter originally had a code 45 error before it was no longer seen in the device manager.
I looked up my product itself on hp support to reinstall the drivers and then restarted. But it still isn't being detected on the Device Manager.

Try UEFI diagnostics on the wireless adapter. Turn off and back on tapping esc rapidly until you get a menu screen...choose F2 for component tests and find the wireless card test and run it. Pretty sure you need a new wireless card and to help more we will need your full model or product number to be sure to grab the correct instruction manual. Replacement cards are inexpensive and on most models not hard to replace.

Thanks, that tip is useful and I will try it when I get back home tonight. I have a similar problem and would like to know your opinion.
I have an HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxx, HP model: 84E7 v: 99.16, with a Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter. The laptop came with Windows 10 preinstalled and it all works fine in that OS. However, it is best for my job to have a dual partition and use Windows 10 occasionally, and Linux Mint 19 almost daily. In my case Linux Mint does not detect the wireless card at all (it is as if it was not there). I think this is because the wireless chipset is so new that neither Ubuntu nor Linux Mint have support for it, yet. I have already asked for help on the main linux mint forum, unfortunately no fix I had been kindly proposed has worked. Here's the link to the forum in case anyone is curious.
Given that wireless connectivity works fine on windows 10 but not at all on Linux mint 19, do you think that I am right in thinking this is a matter of missing the driver for my wireless chipset on linux mint 19? If so, the f2-check you proposed is probably not going to work for me either? Unfortunately this particular problem seems to be very common when trying to install Ubuntu or Linux mint systems.
Thanks again.
Jorge.
