Note HP 246 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there. My Note HP 246 G6 has the Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter that only works on 2.4GHz and 150Mbps.

I want to upgrade the WiFi card for a dual band model or at least for a 300Mbps capable, and I need to know the compatible models for my Motherboard HP 831E (U3E1).

Some cards that I found on internet has the notification that don´t work with HP notebooks 😞

Hi:

I don't believe that your notebook has a BIOS whitelist, but almost as bad, is that there is only one wifi antenna cable connected to the Realtek card in there now.

There is only one dual band AC wifi/bluetooth card that I know of that works with one antenna, and that is this one...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)
HP Part # L17365-005.

The card has been on backorder from HP for months now.

You can find them on eBay by searching by the HP part number.

That card will have a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 Ghz AC band, provided there is an excellent signal.
