I purchased a Hp 250 G4 that has never connected to a wireless network. Efforts to download and reinstall the drivers from the Hp official site have never bore fruits as the "update.cpp 1205 has occurred and setup cannot continue" error always occurs.
Its on a Windows 8 64bit OS.

Hi:
You are getting that error because Broadcom never made any W8 drivers for the model wifi adapter your notebook has.
If you want the wireless to work, you will need to connect via ethernet or USB wireless network adapter, do the required updates to W8, so you can get the free upgrade to W8.1 from the Windows Store, and then you can use the W8.1 Broadcom wifi driver on your notebook's support page.
