Hi,

I am having wifi network issue with my HP laptop. It's not showing any wifi network. But when i get my laptop very close to router then it shows wifi network . But it's range is very poor and I cannot connect to it.

I tried updating wifi drivers but it did not help me.

Please help me with this if you have any idea.

Thanks,

Amar

Hi

Local interference, or a broken antenna wire.

Hi ,

Thanks for quick reply. I don't think it is router problem. Cause my other devices(Mobile,Desktop) are connecting without any issues to wi fi network.

Is there any different solution available ?

Thanks,

Amar

OK.

There are 2 Wi-Fi bands 2.4 and 5.0, some devices use only 2.4.

Others can use BOTH. So a device connecting flawlessly on 5.0 does not guarantee the one on 2.4 will.

Nor does it re-seat an adapter or repair a broken antenna wire.

So what devices do you have and what frequency and channels do they use?

Hi
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat; Re-Connect the AC adapter.

NOW begin checking/testing/proving the Hardware is fit for purpose.
Power on your PC, press ESC (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

Hi

I think the term Dis-Connected is relevant.

So you need to make a connection...

Control Panel

Device Manager

Network Adapters

I appreciate you are helping me on this 😊.

I used HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool and it's showing test as passed for wifi adapter.

But still it's not showing any network.test1.PNGtest2.jpg

Hi

In your listing you have an adapter listed as Dis-Connected

Try Control Panel    --  Network and Sharing Centre

Setup a new Connection or Network.
