Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am having the problem that my wifi disappears after it has gone to sleep and shows in hidden in device manager.  It usually reappears if I restart the laptop.  I don't know if the problem is linked but google chrome also opens up as black screen with no toolbar etc and I cant seem to fully uninstall the programme, in fact if I click uninstall chrome this temporarily fixes the black screen issue. I do not have this issue with Microsoft edge.  I have tried a full factory restore on the laptop but the same problems returned after a day.  I have tried numerous driver updates and windows and HP diagnostics tool with no success at identifying the problem.  My warranty is running out in 10 days and I would rather get this problem sorted rather than using temporary get a round solutions.  On another note the fan does seem to run noisily even when it is idle.

Thanks in advance for any health

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  • Shut down the computer, and then inspect and clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Dust can accumulate inside the vent openings and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.

For more information on reducing heat inside your computer, see Reducing Heat Inside the PC.

  • After you remove the dust, turn on the computer. If the error message persists, continue with these steps.
  • Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again, even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service.

For more information on performing a hard reset, see Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.

  • In some cases, updating the BIOS might help prevent this error from occurring. For more information on how to update the BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
