I need to connect to my Wi-Fi on my HP 15 notebook  I can’t seem to find my Wi-Fi network. Also when I try to look it up with the serial number your system tells me I don’t have the correct serial number so I can’t get any information for my laptop.

Hi @LeoFlow13,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Do you see any available Wi-Fi networks, or is the list completely empty?
  • Have you recently updated Windows or installed new drivers?
  • Is the Wi-Fi button or icon on your keyboard lit up when you try to connect?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check Wireless Key/Function
    • On many HP notebooks, pressing Fn + F12 (or the key with a wireless icon) toggles Wi-Fi on/off. Make sure it’s enabled.
  2. Verify Network Adapter
    • Press Windows + R, type devmgmt.msc, and open Device Manager.
    • Expand Network Adapters and check if your wireless adapter is listed. If it has a yellow warning icon, right-click and select Update Driver.
  3. Run Network Troubleshooter
    • Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Status.
    • Select Network Troubleshooter and follow the prompts to detect issues.
  4. Reset Network Settings
    • In Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced Network Settings, select Network Reset.
    • This will reinstall network adapters and reset settings to default.
  5. Check Router and Distance
  • Make sure your router is powered on and broadcasting.
  • Try moving closer to the router to rule out signal issues.

Regarding the serial number issue:

  • The serial number is usually printed on the bottom of your laptop or inside the battery compartment.
  • You can also find it by pressing Fn + Esc on your keyboard, which opens the HP System Information window.

I hope this helps.
