Hi:
Go to the device manager.
If the wifi adapter needs a driver, there will be a device listed under an Other Devices category, labeled as a Network Controller, and it will have a little ! mark next to it.
Click on the Network controller device and post the hardware ID for it, so I can figure out what driver it needs.

If that is the case, see if installing the HP connection manager software and restarting the PC and then try to turn on the wifi using the connection manager software controls, gets the network controller or wifi adapter to show up.
This package provides the HP Connection Manager for the supported notebook models and operating systems.

If that fails to get the wifi adapter to show up, then the adapter has either completely failed, or the connection to the slot it is connected in has become oxidized, and electrical contact has been broken.
I suggest removing and firmly reseating the card and see if that gets it to show up.
Make sure you remove the battery and disconnect the notebook from A/C power before working inside of it.
Use the service manual I gave you earlier today (or your last night), for the procedure to remove and replace the wifi card.
Leave the antenna wires connected if possible, so it will be easier to reinstall it.
If that doesn't work, you will need to replace the card with one having the exact same HP part number or it will not work.
