I bought my wife a new laptop so she could do her coursework on it for her degree as her old one died. She has had constant issues with this laptop, I have looked at numerous threads and fixes but NOTHING is fixing the issue.

 

Wifi randomly cuts out, it started when she was listening to seminars and now it is randomly doing it when she is working on the laptop. This is causing serious issues to her learning and a lot of stress. Based on the other threads this seems to be a known issue for HP, so I want a resolve ASAP. My wife is struggling and she shouldn't be with a brand new laptop. It has been kept up to date and drivers have been updated but the issue still persists. We have no issue with any other device, have the best broadband and extenders so the wifi is not the issue.

The parts list for the notebook indicates that it comes with a Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi adapter.

 

For some reason, HP has removed all of the Realtek Wi-Fi drivers from almost every PC's support page.

 

According to the Microsoft Update Catalog website, the latest driver for the RTL8852BE/RTL8852BE-VS is 6001.15.156.0, so give that one a try.

 

You want the first file on the list.  It is good for W10 or W11 even though the info just indicates W11.

Now, since this file is a cabinet file and there is no executable, you will have to manually install the driver.

 

The first thing you need to do is to download and install the free 7-Zip file utility so you can unzip the cabinet file into a driver folder you can work with. 

 

You want the first file listed on the link below:

 

7-Zip

 

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the cabinet file you saved from the Windows Update Catalog site.

 

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into that long folder name.

 

After that is done, go to the device manager.

 

Click on the Realtek Wi-Fi adapter.

 

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

 

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.

 

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

 

That would be the only suggestion I can offer.

I did what you recommended and it is still disconnecting from wifi, something is clearly not right with these laptops. My wife is struggling to do her assignments and needs this laptop to actually work. I need this sorted asap!

Sorry that the updated driver didn't resolve the problem.

I have had similar issues with the Realtek RTL8852be wifi6 adapter. Neither the 6001.15.155.1 (installed 3/31/25 nor the 6001.15.156.0 (installed 5/26/25) fixed the random wifi drops. My wifi was stable before the 155 and maybe the 154 version drivers. So I installed an older driver that had been installed on 6/15/24:    6000.15.152.0    Now my wifi is stable again. You are right, there is a serious problem with the Realtek RTL8852be driver software.
