Hello,
I've just purchased a HP Laptop 15-fc0xxx using the Realtek RTK8852BE-VS WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIEe Adapter.
Everytime I connect to the router, the wifi keeps disconnecting after a couple of minutes. Wifi does work perfectly with other devices like my phone, and the router is nearby with a strong signal.
Here's what I've tried so far that didnt resolve the issue :
1/ forgot the wifi network and connected again
2/ network reset thru the advanced network settings
3/ Unchecked "Allow computer to Turn off device to save power" (had to add an entry to the reg in order to get the power management tab to the wifi device)
4/ turned on maximum performances to power options
5/ ran these commands
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
6/ uninstalled wifi drivers and intalled latest ones
Does anyone have a magical fix for that issue ?
Thanks in advance

@BIBOUYOU, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query!
First off, welcome to the HP family! 🎉 Sorry your shiny new laptop is playing hide-and-seek with your Wi-Fi. That Realtek RTL8852BE-VS adapter can be a bit... temperamental sometimes, but don’t worry, we’re on the case like a squirrel on a power line.
You've already done a stellar job troubleshooting, seriously, that list is more thorough than my weekend to-do list (and I include “nap” twice). Since the usual suspects are already in custody, let’s try a few more tricks from the HP Community Toolbox™:🕵️♂️
The “Let’s Get This Wi-Fi to Behave” Checklist:
Update BIOS & Chipset Drivers
Sometimes the Wi-Fi adapter is just waiting for the motherboard to say, “You may now connect.” Head to HP Support and enter your laptop’s full model number (15-fc0xxx) to grab the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.
Disable Wi-Fi 6 (Temporarily)
Some routers and Realtek adapters don’t always play nice with Wi-Fi 6. Try this:
- Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters > Realtek RTL8852BE
- Right-click > Properties > Advanced tab
- Look for 802.11ax or Wi-Fi 6 Mode and set it to Disabled
- Reboot and test
Static Channel on Router
If your router is set to auto-select channels, try manually setting it to a fixed channel (like 36 or 44 for 5GHz). Some Realtek adapters are picky eaters when it comes to channel buffet.
Check for Smart Connect / Band Steering
If your router merges 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one SSID, try splitting them into separate networks. Your laptop might be flip-flopping between bands like a confused tourist.
HP Support Assistant
Run the HP Support Assistant (pre-installed on most HP laptops) and let it scan for any driver or firmware updates you might’ve missed. HP Support Assistant | HP® Support

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I have an HP 15-fc0093dx with the same Realtek adapter. Began having random wifi drops sometime after Realtek driver updates 6001.15.154.0 (3/1/25) and 6001.15.155.1 (3/31/25). Tried everything including update to 6001.15.156.0 on 5/26/25) -- no help. Finally fixed my problem by installing an older drive from last year: 6001.15.152.0 when my wifi was stable.
A second issue to consider is whether your wifi drops on battery only, but not when running on the power adapter. If that is the case the find out if your router is wifi 6 compliant. Wifi 6 introduced a feature called Target Wake time designed to extend battery life by allowing the adapter to control sleep/wake time for communicating with the AP (your router) and thereby saving battery power. The adapter and router negotiate sleep/wake times. I had to upgrade a wifi 4 router to a wifi 6 router to fix the problem one in Feb 2024.
