HP 350 G1
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

We have an HP 350 G1 Probook that is not allowing any wireless connections.

Within HP Mobility centre it shows Wi-Fi as off (option to turn on is greyed out) and even when toggling the button on the laptop it does not change this.

The driver currently installed is "Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter" and the driver is not disabled ( we have disabled and re-enabled to no effect).

We have plugged in via a network cable and this works completely fine.

Other devies on site are connecting to the wireless fine.

Hi

As far as I can see, this is the driver sp64950.exe  and no doubt you are currently using it.

So perhaps establish the details.

Is the network a 2.4 Ghz, and/or 5.0 Ghz and the adapter is suitable for the frequency?

Does the adapter exist?

getmac

netsh lan show interfaces
netsh wlan show interfaces

netsh wlan show drivers

ipconfig -all

msinfo32

Trying some of the above commands and posting/comparing results may give a clue.

If in doubt please ask.

Hi

The pictures have to be approved by a mod, and so my hopefully helpfull reply will come along later, unless someone else solves it meanwhile.

Hi

Things I have noticed, like the driver is not the one I posted.

Try the one I list please.

So replace the driver and run the tests again and look at the differences.

You only need post changes.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

getmac should list 3 things

C:\WINDOWS\system32>getmac

Physical Address    Transport Name
=================== ==========================================================
48-48-48-48-48-27   \Device\Tcpip_{FE8C17AA-1613-4F0A-9BBF-4344B97CB399} --WiFi
48-48-48-48-48-28   Media disconnected    --- Bluetooth

55-55-55-55-55-28   Media disconnected    --- Ethernet

You have only 2.

Your ethernet matches mine in netsh lan show interfaces.

Your netsh wlan show interfaces is quite different

C:\WINDOWS\system32>netsh wlan show interfaces

There is 1 interface on the system:
