Wifi repeatedly drops requiring a rest of the router. Doesn't affect other devices on the network
02-27-2021 07:14 AM

Hi guys,
I have a new HP Spectre x360 14, which usually works well and has good internet speeds. I have updated all the drivers etc.
Occasionally when I start up the computer my wifi speed drops to 2 - 3 mbps (usually it runs at 35-40). This can be solved by resetting the router, but is very annoying. None of other devices on the same network (I live in a household of 5) are affected, and having to reset the router at random times of day is not very popular!
Any advice on how to fix this please?

Any ideas from the community? HP support seems unable to help, beyond recommending drivers are updated and doing a system restore, neither of which have helped.
I have read elsewhere that it could be a problem with the wifi adapter settings, but HP support can give no advice on this.
Thanks in advance.
