Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey Team,

I have been using HP 15 Notebook PC which is quite old now and facing issue with my Wifi , wherein I am not able to locate the Wifi in Windows settings.

I tried reinstalling the Wifi Driver (sp71571- MediaTek (Ralink) Wireless LAN Adapter Driver) multiple times

In Device manager it seems to be visible as hidden device (Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter).

Tried checking the properties and it says this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

Location - PCI bus 10, device 0, function 0

for which i tried all cleanup steps mentioned as per below link -

https://www.ubackup.com/articles/how-to-fix-error-code-45-0040.html

as per the event Logs , can see below error where it is not starting-

Hi:

That model wifi card usually doesn't work on the newer builds of W10.

Your options would be to go back to W8.1, replace the internal Ralink card or use a USB wifi adapter.

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number...

Once I know the model number, I should be able to give you a recommendation for a different model internal wifi adapter that works with W10.

You're very welcome.

You have a 15-R008TU notebook.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

You would want to replace the Internal Ralink wifi card with this model listed in chapter 3...

Realtek RT8723BE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter    HP part # 753077-005.

You should be able to find this model wifi card on eBay or Ali Express.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

The service manual also has the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

This would be a good USB wifi adapter.  It is also dual band.
