Wifi upgrade HP 2000 Laptop

I have a 2000-2b22DX laptop and im thinking of upgrading my wlan card to get 150Mbps download speeds. what are the make and models of the compatible hardware that can be used? Thanks.

Your laptop is old enough that it still has the dreaded HP "whitelist" which means you can only use these wireless cards and they have to be the exact HP Part number device:

WLAN module: Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi Adapter 675794-001

Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 655795-001

Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 657325-001

Ralink WLAN Ralink Ripple3 RT5390F_802.11 b/g/n 1x1 PCIe HMC 670691-001

Atheros AR9565 802.11bgn 1x1 WiFi + BT4.0 combo Adapter 690019-001

Ralink RT3290LE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 690020-001

Ralink RT5390R 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter 691415-001

All of these are b/g/n cards and none are dual band so all run in the 2.4 ghz band with a single band. So, if the speed you want is 150 mbps, then you need a dual band card. All these cards will be limited to about 72 mbps.  Which card do you have and have you opened the wireless compartment to see if you have 1 or 2 antennae?

It has the "Ralink TR5390R 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter".  I opened the back and It has only 1 antena.

So, this laptop can't get 150Mbps wifi speeds, since it won't accept a dual band card? Thanks.

So if all I am looking for is 72bps do I need to swap out the wireless bgn card for an "Ac" wireless card?
