My computer hasn't been able to connect to the Internet for about 3 weeks and I've already tried most of the stuff on the top forum except for downloading new drivers because I don't have Internet. The other computers in my house connect to the wifi and I've tried connecting to my phones hotspot which didn't work. Please help!

See p. 55 of the Service Manual here for "how to" and list of compatible wifi cards:

http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02834058.pdf

You cannot use the ones for Intel models so here is the best available item that is compatible:

Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 657325-001

Let us know if you need more help. If you do not have Bluetooth this module will add it so you would need to remove the card you have, insert this one and be prepared to load both the Broadcom wi-fi and bluetooth drivers when prompted. Might be best to have those drivers ready on a thumb drive. Post back if you need links.

When I said the top forum I meant the common connectivity issue fixed

Need the full model number of the laptop and we need to identify the wireless card type (Intel, Broadcom, etc). Have you looked in device manager to see how the wireless card appears there? The wireless card may need replaced. It can even be a virus that is blocking the driver from loading right. Lots of potential answers.

Sorry, the wireless card type is Realtek version 105.33.313.2012, I already did a clean boot and it still didn't work, my model number is g7-1261nr the wireless card seems to be working in the device manager. If there's any more info I need to add just tell me

Wireless cards do go bad and they are inexpensive and easy to replace. It would also give you the chance to install something a little better although your options are limited by the HP whitelist. Where are you located (country)? And do you want to try replacing the wireless card?

I could get a new wireless card, I live in the US

I think I have the card and the links but just to make sure I used Broadcom.com/support/Bluetooth and downloaded the Windows 7 64 bit and I also used support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds015008 tell me if this is incorrect and I'm going to take the old card out put the new one in and load the two drivers thanks for your help and if this works I'll accept as solution

I actually didn't use those sites but rather the ones on the hp website and it did work, thanks for your help it's really appreciated

Although I said it works after about 10 minutes of using it it came up with the yellow exclamation mark and I don't have connection, this is really frustrating since I had just bought the new wireless card
