Hey everyone,

I have a dv5-1134tx and my wireless button wasn't working either. It was on amber and when I pressed it the laptop and HP Wireless assistant would say it is "enabled" on the screen yet the button remained amber and internet didn't actually work. I tried everything on this forum! HP Wireless assistant, reinstalling hardware, flashing BIOS, system restore, battery changing.. It was nice to have so many things to try. Unfortunately none of them worked! I eventually found a solution from another forum, which suggested going to Device Manager --> Network Adapters, and completely uninstalling the wireless device. So I did this! (I didn't uninstall the software which it asked if I wanted to do). The forum assured me that once I turned off my computer and switched it back on, the system would recoginize the hardware and reinstall it. It totally did and my wireless button is now blue again! I had to set up my local connections again but WOOH THE BLUE LIGHT! Hope this helps someone!

Try disconnecting any LAN cables from the computer. They disable the WLAN capabilities.

On the internet no one knows you are only wearing a fez

This was the only solution that worked on my HP Mini 110-3000. Its wireless key was orange for a few years, and I used to use cable to connect. But BIOS download and update turned it on. :generic:
