How do I know which wirless driver I should use?

I upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10.  My wireless function key stopped working.  Microsoft had me rollback to Windows 7.   My wireless driver is no longer working.  I am unable to recover my laptop to manufacturer reset without ordering a recovery disk.

Below are the options that was offered:

Network Drivers

  • sp54972 - Atheros 2011 Wireless LAN Driver
  • sp55343 - Atheros Bluetooth Driver
  • sp57965 - Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7
  • sp54901 - Intel PROSet Bluetooth Driver
  • sp54841 - Intel Wireless Drivers for Microsoft Windows 7
  • sp57090 - Intel Wireless Drivers, Intel PROSet, and Intel My WiFi for sp56036 - Microsoft Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter
  • sp55063 - Ralink/Motorola Bluetooth Adapter Driver
  • sp55105 - Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver

Hi:

The only way we can help you with the correct wireless driver is to provide the hardware ID for the wireless network adapter.

Please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the device manager as a Network Controller.

To find the hardware ID, click on the Network Controller device in the device manager.

Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list, and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Also please post the product number for your notebook.

The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.
