my Presaro CQ62-410US model#XG958UA#ABA, running windows 7 also has a problem with connecting to the wifi. I use eithernet. Followed instructions per 08-28-20012 still not workiing.. can you advise?

im reynaldo im using hp compaq cq62 my old wifi combo card was damage and i buy different model but same combo card but my laptop wont accept the new combo card?what will i do?some say i install old version of bios but i dont know what version can u tell me how to change the wifi so it can accept different kind of combo wifi card?
please help i disperately need help..

2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
• Example: Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit
3. Error message (if any)
• Example: ""Low disk space"" error in Windows
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
• Examples: Upgrading your Operating System or installing a new software; or installing new hardware like a printer, modem, or router.
