HP Envy M6 m6-1205dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Envy M6 m6-1205dx with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11bgn Wifi Adapter. This card does not see our 5g wifi network so I would like to upgrade it with one that will.

What makes/models of Wifi Adapters will work with my system to do this?

Unfortunately, you cannot. Your model still has the HP "whitelist" which locks the BIOS to allow the sytem to boot only if one of the approved HP adapters is present. If you install something else all you will get at startup is an error message.

This is your Manual:

Possible wi-fi modules are listed on page 61 and of these, it must be the HP part number version to work.
