Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello.

I'm installing the correct driver from the website for the 64 version, windows 7, and it's not working. At one point I think it said that it is a "vista" driver. Just the one time. Any ideeas?

Hi:

The info you posted helped just as much.

The problem with the driver you are using is that is is too old to work with WPA-2 personal security.

Download and install this W7 driver, and you should be good to go...

This package contains the drivers for the supported Atheros Wireless LAN Adapters in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Hi:

Please go to the device manager and post the hardware ID for the device you see listed there labeled as a Network Controller.

That is the name of the wifi card when a driver is not installed.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

I can only find "Network adapters" and under him these 2;

#1 Atheros AR5007 802. 11b/g WiFi Adapter (Driver Version 2.0.0.74)

#2 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (Driver Version 7.65.1025.2012)

Does this information help? Or should I unninstall everything and check again?

I uninstalled the previous driver and installed the one you gave me. Same thing, it shows those little bars with an X on them, when I click them it still says no connections available.  Should I be uninstalling the "Realtek PCIe GBE Familiy Controller" too?

Forgot to mention, at least now it said driver installed succesfuly, even after restart.

Hi:

The Realtek PCIe GBE Familiy Controller is the ethernet (wired) adapter, and would have no effect on the wifi card working or not.

What is the driver version and date on the Atheros AR5007 wifi card now?  If it is from 2011, unfortunately, I have no idea what the problem could be.

Edit; Reinstalled it again, restarted it and now it works. THANK YOU for your help!

You're very welcome.

Does your model have the optional HP bluetooth module?

If so, you need this W7 driver for that...

This package contains the software required to support the HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology in the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. The HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology provides wireless connectivity to other devices from the integrated module of the supported notebooks/laptops. It also provides additional Bluetooth Profiles.
