I see intell chipset installation utility, mobile Intel r 4series express chipset family driver, plus a few others..
I clicked on the "driver is not in the list"..when I go to device manager there is nothing that says wireless for me to choose..does that mean it is completely missing or am I not choosing or looking at the correct item..nothing that says wifi but a tons of other things...your thoughts?...

No idea since Im not there to see it first hand.
Let make sure of what wifi card is installed.
Go to Computer on your desktop or Start menu and right click on it.
Choose Manage, then choose Device Manager.
Look down the list for Network adapters and expand the tiny arrow on the side.
Do you see anything that has Wifi or Wireless in the name?
If so, tell me what it is named. It should either be Atheros, Broadcom or Intel.
If not,
- Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
- At a command prompt, type or copy/paste the following command , and then press ENTER:set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
- Then back in the Device Manager, go to View and enable Show Hidden Devices.
Look in the main list for Other devices. If its there, expand it and see what it has listed.
If there is something listed, right click on it and go to Properties.
Find the hardware ID numbers in the Details tab under Property.
They would look something like these...
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&SUBSYS_50108086&REV_61
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&SUBSYS_50108086
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&CC_0280
Alternatively, open the bottom access door and look at the wifi card.
Page 2-8 of the manual shows the access door (#4).

While you are there, remove the card. Restart the PC then shut it down.
Reinstall the wifi card.
Reboot.

I wish it were a way you could remote in to see what is happening. I searched high an low an I can't find my installation disc so I just went ahead an ordered a new one as at this point I just don't know what else to do.
Now as far as the Wi-Fi card number
I don't have a screw driver small enough to get those screws out on the back of the unit for me to get the Wi-Fi card number so I am running to the store today.
I am so not computer literate but you've taught me so much over the last few days.
I looked under every tab an nothing said wireless, wifi, Alltel, Broadcom, an no "other's" tab"..etc...I saw all the other factory installed drivers but no wireless so I don't have a clue as to how it was removed or disappeared..or why everything but the wireless installed after the reset..
I will be back later once I can get that Wi-Fi card number for you...
In case I forget to tell you later, you are AWESOME. an I really appreciate you helping me with this..

Do you have an ethernet cord you can connect to the router with?
If so, download and install the ethernet driver and see if it will connect with the routers ethernet directly.

"so you want me to plug one end to my laptop an the other to my cable router right?"
Yes that is correct.
IF your ethernet works on the windows 7 machine, then the ethernet cord will work.
IF not, you need to install that file.
I thought perhaps you had access to another PC that you could download to and transer files with a USB 2 pen drive.
What ever you can use, download the file transfer the file.
If you dont know how to transer a file over, you will need to find some one there to help you out.
