Pavilion DV6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

My HP Pavilion DV6 laptop with Windows7-64bit-HomePremium was able to connect to wifi all the time. But last week, suddenly the entry for Wifi adapter in "Network and Internet->Network Connections" disappeared as seen in the attached screenshots. Also, "Intel Wireless" device disappeared from Device Manager. Bluetooth device for wireless is enabled.

Since, Wifi adapter device is not present , laptop is not able to detect any Wifi SSIDs and so cannot connect to Wifi.

I tried using HP recovery manager , but it did not recover the Intel wireless device.

Can you please guide me how can I recover wifi adapter and Intel wireless device in the device manager?

I did some more investigations and debugging. I also reinstalled the Windows 7 by completely reformatting the system.

I was able to get Wifi Wireless LAN displayed in HP Connection manager. pls refer attached screenshots.

But it was shown as disabled & could not be enabled from device manager.

After reading thru documentation of HP Connection Manager, I learnt that Wifi can be disabled from BIOS also, but I did not find Wifi or Wireless LAN settings in BIOS in any of the screens.

Why is Wifi Wireless LAN is not listed in BIOS ?

How can I get this resolved? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
