Hi all,

So I ha e had my laptop for about 4 years now. Never had a problem with connecting to the wifi. But now for some reason, my laptop will pick up my neighbors wifi but not mine. And now at my dad's place same thing finds all the other net but not his. My phone picks it up and other people can pick it up.

This is a very odd situation. I've have friends who are into all things computers and know their way around look at it. Nobody can find a reason for this..

I think your machine supports 2.4GHz networks only. Please check your router and allow it to broadcast BOTH bands (dual bands) which are 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. Your machine should "see" and pick up 2.4GHz SSID.

Thank you.

We have checked that and it doesn't seem to be the problem.

Your browser should now broadcast 2 SSID's, can you see both of them from devices which support both ? Normally those devices can see similar to the following image

     dual bands.png

There are 2 SSID's one is AAAAAA (for 2.4GHz) and other one is AAAAAA-G5 (for 5.0GHz)

Since your machine can see your neighbor's networks that means must be something from your router, not your machine itself.
