Just wondering if anybody has a similar antenna that could be/act as a second antenna for my laptop that I put in a new Wi-Fi chip and the new Wi-Fi chip has two antenna connectors and not just one and I would prefer if I could use my Bluetooth

Hi @Thegreenbeen121,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. What is the exact model of your HP laptop?
  2. What Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip did you install?
  3. Does your laptop currently have only one antenna connected, and is Bluetooth still working with that setup?
  4. Are you hoping to add a second antenna internally, or are you considering an external solution?

In the meantime, here are a few things to consider:

1. Check Wi-Fi chip specifications

  • Many dual-antenna chips can function with a single antenna, but performance may be reduced.
  • Verify if your chip supports single-antenna operation while keeping Bluetooth functional.

2. Using an existing antenna for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

  • Some laptops and chips allow antenna sharing, but Bluetooth or Wi-Fi performance may drop slightly.

3. External or replacement antenna options

  • Look for laptop antenna kits designed for M.2 or mini PCIe Wi-Fi cards.
  • Make sure any antenna matches the connector type (usually U.FL) and fits inside your laptop.

4. Testing

  • After connecting a second antenna, check:
    • Wi-Fi speed and stability
    • Bluetooth connectivity

I hope this helps.

Hi @Thegreenbeen121,

Thanks for your response.

HP doesn’t sell the internal integrated parts like individual Wi-Fi antennas separately to end users. Those components are typically only included as part of the original laptop assembly.

If you’re looking to upgrade hardware such as adding a second antenna for the Intel AC 9260, you’d need to contact a third-party repair or service center. Many independent tech shops can source compatible replacement antennas or install universal laptop Wi-Fi antennas that will work with your model however if the third party components causes any damage to the laptop, which will void the warranty of the computer.

I hope this helps.
