HP Laptop - 15-gw0010wm

A "forced" update downloaded yesterday, and now I can no longer flip my YouTube videos to my Samsung TV. Is anyone else having this issue? Have you gotten it resolved? It also, no longer reads my laptop through the HDMI cable either, since the update.

Hi @im2bizzie,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

  •
    1. Adjust Resolution: Ensure that the resolution is compatible with your TV. You might need to adjust it to match the TV’s native resolution.

**4. Reboot Both Devices

  • Power Cycle:
    1. Restart Laptop: Shut down your laptop and turn it back on.
    2. Restart TV: Power off your TV and unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

**5. Check for Windows Updates

  • Update Windows:
    1. Open Settings: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Check for Updates: Ensure your system is up to date with the latest updates.

**6. Roll Back Recent Update

  • Uninstall Recent Update:
    1. Open Settings: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. View Update History: Click on View update history, then Uninstall updates.
    3. Uninstall Update: Find the recent update that might be causing the issue and uninstall it.

**7. Check HDMI Output

  • Verify HDMI Output:
    1. Open Control Panel: Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
    2. Playback Devices: Right-click on Playback devices and check if the HDMI output is selected as the default playback device.

**8. Reset TV Input

  • Check TV Input Settings: Ensure the TV input source is set to the HDMI port where your laptop is connected.

**9. Test with Another HDMI Device

  • Check with Another Device: Connect another HDMI device to the TV to ensure the HDMI port on the TV is functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
