Does anyone know if non-4G version of the Zbook stduio x360 G5, 4k (non-dreamcolour), sim card slot is a dud?
If it is not, will I be able to put in my own WWAN card in for the 4G? ( provided if I could get my hands on it)

Telco providers still make this field very hard for people. They want to sell their hardware and services that why they have contracts. You can't simply install WWAN card and put your SIM in and expect they will work. Similar to phones, many phones won't work on other countries because they are locked. You can't simply buy a pre-paid SIM at an airport to use in that country.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.

It makes sense but it doesnt answer my problem.
Is the simcard slot on the Zbook studio x360 a dud?
Could I install my own WWAN card (yes obviously it will be unlock as I want to use it for traveling)?
But is it Plug and play? The laptop leave the WWAN antenna inside. So adding a WWAN card on my own is easy.
I realise that they do sell the WWAN card in my country. Could I just get one in china as long as it is the same model number (lt4132 LTE).
