There was updates for my router.

I discovered that i had not filled in my password on the 5GHz network that had to be the same as for 2,4 GHz.

I also saw that i had public network so i changed that in regedit.

Everytime my WiFi dissappear i saw that it went from private to public in and it kept doing that. Then i tried changing channel on my broadband and it worked better but the problem came back But this last channel i have now has worked over a week without problem execept for in the beginning when the computer has been shut down. And it has stopped trying to connect to a public network. Hopefully this works now. I have been able to use cable even if it has not been 100%.

I am doing the best i can with my ability and sometimes easy problems can be hard if you do not have grown up with computers or worked with computers. I do know if i did it right or if it fixed itself.

@bokstav

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the access points are getting deleted automatically and the WiFi connection stops working, also you have an issue with the battery,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Does the wired connection work fine?

Have you updated windows using the wired network?

While you respond to that, here's what I recommend you do:

Remove and reinstall the wireless network adapter driver as it can clear registry values and reset configurations so the driver can be properly set up and accessed by Windows. Use one of the following sections to reinstall your wireless adapter.

  • Reinstall the Wi-Fi driver using HP Recovery Manager (preferred)
  • Use Device Manager to reinstall the driver

Downloading and installing the latest driver for your wireless adapter can resolve issues with wireless Internet connections, especially issues related to performance or intermittent dropped connections.

Click here to access the Official HP Website for Software and download.

The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

Let me know if those steps worked for you,

If they did, that's awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck

I reinstalled network card several times Checked that i have the latest drivers Reinstalled W10 because there was other serious problems in this computer that i could not solve I waited to reinstall Norton for several days

It has function with kabel to 90%. The WiFi function longer periods now and my other W10 computer has also had problems lately with accesspoint I do not use that computer so much The problem in that computer i have been able to fix with a simple restart. And i have problems with netgear genie app on my phone. I think the problem is somewhere else then network card.

I am going through Windows recommendations and i am considering if my router has any problems. It is a good router and not so old but i have to consider that.

One strange thing occured. I had for some reason public network. I have done something wrong . This other unit thing you can choose were on. I do not have bluetooth in this computer. My computer with only Ubuntu installed, it was originally a HP laptop with Windows. Its desktop changed and i could not access administration tools and so on, but it had 2 new folders. one with the name Windows the other the name of the problem computer and the word workgroup.I have not tried to link them together. i simply reinstalled Ubuntu and solved that problem. That was weird.

In my phone it also can search for other units and also even if Bluetooth is off it can use it anyway to search for other units something like that it said and when i shoot it off the WiFi became considerable better.

I used Bluetooth to connect my phone with my 2-1 computer not long ago, but that should not cause all this problems.

I am sure my problem will be solved in the end. But not today.
