HP Notebook - 15-ac123tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my hp15-ac123tx  i5 5th gen in 2016 . I have RTL8723BE wifi card inside my laptop which support only 2.5ghz band. I would like to upgrade to a 5ghz or wifi 6 if its supported in my laptop.

Can you please help me by suggesting the best suitable wifi card for my laptop inorder to use fast wifi.

Hi:

Your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which limits what model wifi adapters you can install.

Folks have reported that this dual band AC card works...I would not try any other model but this one.

(2) Solved: WiFi Module for 5ghz - HP Support Community - 8104412

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The card has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router and an excellent signal.

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express.

I see some Intel 3165 cards listed on the eBay listings, so don't buy those.

RTL8821CE - Buy RTL8821CE with free shipping on AliExpress

On the Ali Express listings, make sure the card has the HP Part # of 915620-001.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
