Hi @lig62,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When the Bluetooth functionality does not show up in the Device Manager after changing the motherboard, it typically indicates a driver issue or a hardware recognition problem. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

Check Bluetooth Hardware Connection:

  • Ensure that the Bluetooth module is properly connected to the new motherboard if it's a separate module.
  • If the Bluetooth is integrated into the motherboard, ensure that all internal connections are secure.

Enable Bluetooth in BIOS:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • Look for any settings related to Bluetooth or wireless devices and ensure they are enabled.

Update BIOS:

  • Sometimes, a BIOS update can resolve hardware recognition issues. Check the motherboard manufacturer’s website for any BIOS updates.

Install Chipset Drivers:

  • Install the latest chipset drivers for your new motherboard from the manufacturer's website. This can sometimes resolve issues with missing hardware components.

Install Bluetooth Drivers:

  • Go to the new motherboard manufacturer's website and download the latest Bluetooth drivers.
  • If the Bluetooth adapter is separate and not integrated, download drivers from the adapter manufacturer's website.

Check Device Manager for Hidden Devices:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Click on "View" and then select "Show hidden devices".
  • Check if the Bluetooth adapter appears under "Network adapters" or "Bluetooth".
  • If it appears, right-click on it and try updating the driver.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Find and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.

Uninstall and Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers:

  • In Device Manager, if there is a Bluetooth section or a hidden device, right-click on it and select "Uninstall device".
  • Restart the computer and allow Windows to attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

Check Windows Services:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Ensure that the "Bluetooth Support Service" is running. If it’s not, right-click and start it.

Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows is up to date. Sometimes updates include necessary drivers for newly installed hardware.

If you have tried all these steps and the Bluetooth functionality is still not showing up, it could be a compatibility issue with the new motherboard or a hardware fault.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
