hello, from the first day of having this laptop i've been struggling with buetooth. i have headphones sony wh-ch510 and they are not that old to be incompatible with my new laptop. i can connect them and eventually they start providing sound, it takes about half an hour but still every minute the sound dissappears for a second. every time when i just connected them and start for example a video there is no sound at all. it appears for a second then poof and it's gone again. i don't know what to do because when i brought it to the service everything everything worked and seemed okay. (english is not my first language, sorry if anyting is not understandable, but i hope someone can help me)

Hi @raymndc,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with intermittent Bluetooth issues. Given that your headphones work fine when tested elsewhere and that the service center didn't find issues, it could be related to your laptop’s Bluetooth drivers or settings. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot.

Update Bluetooth Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
  • Expand the "Bluetooth" section.
  • Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

Bluetooth Troubleshooter:

  • Open Settings (you can use Win + I).
  • Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and follow any recommended fixes.

Check Audio Settings:

  • Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.
  • Under Output, make sure your headphones are selected as the output device.
  • Click on Device properties and check the settings for any enhancements or advanced settings that might affect playback.

Bluetooth Power Settings:

  • Go to Device Manager.
  • Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter, and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Reset Bluetooth:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  • Remove your headphones from the list of paired devices.
  • Restart your laptop and pair the headphones again.

Windows Update:

  • Make sure your Windows is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.

If none of these steps help, it might be worth checking for any interference from other devices or considering a Bluetooth dongle as an alternative to the built-in adapter.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
