Hello

I need to use 5 GHz band for special networking issues and monitoring purposes.

It is claimed that Broadcom 43224 chipset has 802.11n "dual band" capabality. ON THIS PAGE.

My 43224 chipset has pci id 14e4:4353.

Currently I have this driver installed: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/draft-n version 5.60.48.35.

I've checked the driver for my laptop. ON THIS PAGE. (MINE IS OLDER)

I've used this command in cmd:

netsh wlan show drivers

the output:

    Radio types supported     : 802.11n      802.11a      802.11g      802.11b

If it is really 5GHz band capable (as it is claimed) why can't I use 5GHz band?

Is it a driver problem? for example, hp hasn't included the capability in the driver, or something else? Or is it just hoax?!

Hi! @tahmoores, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand that wireless on your laptop is not working at 5GHz.

As you have mentioned that you are running  5.60.48.35 version on your laptop.

Please update the wireless driver to 5.60.350.11 from this link. And check if the issue still persists.

Let me know if this works!

Have a great day! 🙂
