Hi @Civvienow_1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Since your HP Chromebook x360 was previously connecting to Wi-Fi but now shows messages like “Out of range” or “No Wi-Fi”, yet it still connects to your phone’s hotspot, and other devices are working fine on the same network, this strongly suggests that the issue may lie with the Chromebook’s Wi-Fi settings, or possibly a compatibility issue with your router.

Let’s explore a few steps to help re-establish a strong and stable connection.

1. Forget and Reconnect to the Network

  • Click the time in the bottom-right corner > Settings ⚙️
  • Go to Network > Wi-Fi
  • Click your home network > Forget
  • Reconnect by entering the password again

2. Restart Your Chromebook and Router

  • Power off your Chromebook completely
  • Unplug your router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in
  • Wait for the Wi-Fi to fully restart, then turn on your Chromebook

3. Check Date & Time Settings

  • Go to Settings > Advanced > Date and time
  • Make sure it’s set to Automatic

4. Change Wi-Fi Band (Router Settings)

  • If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, try switching bands
  • Some Chromebooks have trouble with certain 5 GHz channels

5. Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings
  • Click Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth

6. Update Chrome OS

  • Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates
  • Install any available updates and restart

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
