I've come across it twice now with trying to install this driver using install wizard.  I thought I exhausted you and you went to bed so, I picked repair, the driver is now listed as 18.33,17.1    Same as the install I did from a prior download.  I'm calling it a night, I can always try tomorrow and try modify, see what happens.   When I open "driver details" to view the driver detail files,  it lists it as - C:\windows\system\32\DRIVERS\Netwbw02.sys.  I hope this is ok on a 64 bit.  Device manager states it is working properly. It didn't fix the wifi connectivity, speed test still as bad as before.  I'm going to mark it as solution because everyone else got great results.  I'm back to blaming the Arris.  Can't thank you enough Paul for all your help!  I'm going to do another ping test on the wifi card tomorrow.  If you think that 32\system will be a problem please let me know and i'll do an uninstall or roll back.  Have a good night!

You're very welcome.

The system 32 driver directory is fine.  If it wasn't, you would have gotten an error.

Sorry that driver didn't work but you can try one more thing tomorrow.

See if the Intel 7260 AC Wi-Fi driver works for the N card too.

Here is the link to my Skydrive folder.

I had saved these files for my Wi-Fi card before Intel removed the drivers from their support site and they were the last ones released for the 7260 series Wi-Fi cards.

Download, unzip and run the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers in the Intel 7260AC WiFi & Bluetooth Drivers.zip file.

SkyDrive - OneDrive (live.com)

Hopefully they will also work for the 7260 N card.

I wish I remembered what the Intel release notes indicated for those drivers.

I'm thinking they were good for both the AC and N variations.

Enjoy the rest of your night too.
