HP Envy x360 notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For sometime now my internet has been disconnecting, often 2 to 3 times in an hour. To reconnect, I right click on the wireless icon at the bottom right of the screen (task bar) and select the " Troubleshoot Problems". After this feature completes, the troubleshooter resets the Wi-Fi ADAPTER and this has me up and running again. This is driving me crazy. I have updated the drivers...I have backdated the drivers... I have followed some suggestions via the internet...but nothing helps!

I've got 3 of those models in various PC's and they work fine.

I'm thinking one of  antenna cables has become detached from the wifi card, or has broken where the cable travels through the hinge area of the notebook.

Sometimes they are installed with not enough slack near there, and they eventually fray or break from the opening and closing of the notebook lid.

Either that, or the card has gone bad.

Thank you Paul. Your scenario makes a lot of since. You sound like you know your stuff....so, I'll take it in and have it replaced. I will know then if that was the problem. Thanks again 🙂

You're very welcome.

You would not believe how thin and delicate the antenna wires are.

Hopefully, it is just the card, but if it has been working fine all this time, and suddenly this has developed, it could also be one of the antenna wires.
