HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000 (45W37AV)

I installed the Windows 11 23h2 operating system again, the problem is that it does not let me connect to the internet and the mouse pad does not work, I have an HP Pavilon model 15-eg0501la, I imagine it is a driver problem and I have not already downloaded the driver support from HP but they tell me it is not compatible.

Hi @Rau7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing driver compatibility issues after reinstalling Windows 11 23H2 on your HP Pavilion 15-eg0501la. Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve the issues with your internet connection and touchpad.

Verify Network and Touchpad Drivers

Check Device Manager:

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Look for any devices with a yellow triangle under "Network adapters" and "Mice and other pointing devices". These indicate driver issues.

Download Correct Drivers from HP:

  • Visit the HP Support page and enter your laptop model (15-eg0501la).
  • Ensure you download the drivers specific to Windows 11.

Install Network Driver:

  • Download the network driver (Wi-Fi or Ethernet, depending on your connection).
  • Install the driver and restart your laptop.

Install Missing or Updated Drivers

HP Support Assistant:

  • Download and install the HP Support Assistant from the HP website. This tool can automatically identify and install the necessary drivers.

Windows Update:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Windows may find and install the missing drivers.

Manually Install Drivers if Automatic Methods Fail

Download Touchpad Driver:

  • If HP’s website does not provide a compatible touchpad driver, try downloading it directly from the touchpad manufacturer’s website (e.g., Synaptics or ELAN).

Install in Compatibility Mode:

  • Right-click the downloaded driver setup file.
  • Select Properties > Compatibility tab.
  • Check Run this program in compatibility mode for and select an earlier version of Windows (Windows 10).
  • Apply the changes and run the setup file.

Use Windows Troubleshooter

Network Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Internet Connections troubleshooter.

Touchpad Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
  • Run the Find and fix problems with your devices troubleshooter.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Update BIOS:

  • Download the latest BIOS update from the HP support page.
  • Follow the instructions carefully to update the BIOS.

Update Chipset Drivers:

  • Download and install the latest chipset drivers from the HP support page. Chipset drivers often include updates for integrated components, such as network adapters and touchpads.

Reinstall Windows 11 if Necessary

  1. Clean Install:
    • If issues persist, consider performing a clean installation of Windows 11.
    • Ensure you have all the necessary drivers downloaded beforehand.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the driver issues for your HP Pavilion 15-eg0501la on Windows 11 23H2.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
