@Shailendar, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Ethernet Issues on an HP Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are experiencing issues with the Ethernet connection on your HP laptop, follow these steps to troubleshoot and fix the problem:

Check the Ethernet Cable:

  • Ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the router or modem.
  • Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out any possible issues with the cable.

Check the Ethernet Port:

  • Inspect the Ethernet port on your laptop for any physical damage or debris.
  • If available, try connecting the cable to a different Ethernet port on the router or switch.

Restart Your Devices:

  • Restart your HP laptop and your networking equipment (router/modem).

Network Adapter Settings:

  • Open "Device Manager" on your HP laptop.
  • Locate "Network adapters" and expand the list.
  • Find your Ethernet adapter, right-click on it, and select "Disable."
  • After a few seconds, right-click on it again and select "Enable."

Update Network Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your Ethernet adapter.
  • Install the updated drivers and restart your laptop.

Check Network Connection Settings:

  • Open the "Network and Sharing Center" from the Control Panel.
  • Click on "Change adapter settings."
  • Right-click on the Ethernet connection and select "Properties."
  • Make sure that "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" is checked and configured to obtain an IP address automatically.

Power Cycle Your Network:

  • Turn off the router and modem, and unplug them from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug them back in and turn on the devices.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
