Enable Sim card is a multi-step process:
Confirm that your computer has the necessary WWAN Broadband module installed in the hardware.
Reminder >>
The WWAN module is a purchase option on this series -- NOT every computer includes this hardware module.
- Check that the WWAN hardware is installed
- Check / Install any needed driver for that module
- Install a supported SIM card that can connect to your active Mobile Carrier Network
Reference - Hardware

If the module is installed in the hardware,
Use the Device Manager to find / display information about an installed WWAN module.
Example – Control Panel access to Device Manager
Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager
Tab View
Select View by action types
Check Show hidden devices
Select Drivers by type
Expand section Network Adapters
Find LT / LTE in list
Right-Click on the module > Properties
Use Settings > Network & internet to display information about an installed SIM card.
The SIM card, when connected to an active mobile account, works with the WWAN hardware module to connect your computer to your mobile network carrier.
If you need a driver for the installed WWAN module,
Open category Software and Drivers > Software and drivers for HP EliteBook 840 G5 Notebook PC
Select Operating System = Windows
Select Operating System version = Windows 11
Open All Drivers
Open All
Open details for the WWAN driver
Example - Webpage for Driver
Download / Save / Install the driver
