HP Pavilion g4-2129tx Notebook
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Good day... I reformatted my HP Pavilion g4-2129tx Notebook using windows 7 64 bit OS. After formatting, I cant seem to make the wifi work, I've already tried installing a bunch of different drivers for the wifi adapter but there aren't any wireless adapter shown in the network connection.

Hi:

See if installing the HP Connection Manager software and using that to turn on the wireless network adapter gets it to show up.

This package provides the HP Connection Manager for the supported notebook models and operating systems.

File name: sp54945.exe

If only the wireless driver was missing, you would be seeing a device listed in the device manager as a Network Controller.

Your screen shot shows that no existing hardware needs drivers, which means the wireless card is not present at all.

It is either because it is turned off by the connection manager software, or it has suffered a hardware failure.

If the connection manager software fails to turn on the wireless card (or get a Network Controller device to show up in the device manager), you can safely assume the wireless card has a problem.

You can see if simply removing and reseating the wireless card gets it to work again.  Sometimes the connections get oxidized.  Try removing and reseating the card without removing the antennas.

The antennas are delicate and sometimes difficult to reattach.

Consult chapter 4 of the service manual for your notebook to see how to remove and replace the wireless card.

Hi @kyoushi024,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I read your post and wanted to reach out to help you!

I have read that your HP Pavilion g4-2129tx Notebook will not connect to the Wireless. Here is some help from HP.

Here is a document on Airplane mode. If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Ethernet, so Airplane mode should off for the Wireless troubleshooting.

Sometimes just resetting the router can help. Unplug the router and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in to make sure it fully resets.

Please get back to me how this goes.

If there is anything else I can do to help, please be sure to let me know!  If this, or any of the posts on this thread, has helped you to resolve the issue, please click on Accept as Solution on my post.

thanks for the reply .., I followed the instruction in the links that you posted, but it didnt seem to solved the problem. I tried to turn on the wifi through the designated button on the keyboard but it doesnt work, the color of the led light indicator is still orange. I think that my laptop may be missing some drivers for the wireless LAN. Here are some additional information about my laptop. TIA
