HP Notebook - 15-f271wm (ENERGY STAR)

I am having problems with my hp laptop not being able to connect to wifi but all other devices in the house are connected.

The specs of your machine is

It ONLY has  1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN  adapter which supports 2.4GHz networks only. Please allow your router to broadcasy DUAL bands, your machine well "see"2.4GHz SSID and allow you to connect.

In simple non tech person terms WHT does the mean. The internet that we have is 2.4 GHz 

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to computer lingo

I called Hp and all they would tell me is it is a software drive issue
