Hello,

My laptop, hp pavilion g6, stopped working on wifi all of a sudden.  I get an error that says capability is turned off and LAN is not connected.    i press the f12 key to turn it on but to no avail.   please help.  thanks.  The light stays amber does not change to white after depressing f12.

it's an hp pavilion g6-1b59wm notebook pc

I havewindows 7 home premium

Product: LW354UA#ABA

Regulatory Model: HSTNN-194C

In searching and wanting to get this resolved as quickly as possible,   i have found my own solution. I don't know for how long though...   here's why.

The problem seeemed to be in the HP Connection Manager, i went to preferences and enabled wifi thru there.  The amber light turned white.   i tested and was able to log into my email.   (YAY!!!)  and have internet access.   I use hotspot and never had a problem with it before,  and now I also have this laptop that I am using for this post and also off my hotspot.    the reason I say I don't know for how long is this...

the HP Connection Manager is still reading that Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) is off ---- Yet my light is white and i am able to go online and sign on to my email.     ?????
