Hi @akakakakak,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where the Airplane Mode on your Windows 11 laptop doesn't turn off all wireless communication, specifically keeping the internet connection active. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
1. Check Airplane Mode Settings
- Go to Settings > Network & internet > Airplane mode.
- Ensure that both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are toggled off when you enable Airplane mode.
2. Update Network Drivers
- Outdated or corrupted network drivers can cause issues with connectivity settings.
- Open Device Manager by pressing Win + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters, right-click on your network adapter, and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.
3. Disable Fast Startup
- Fast Startup in Windows can sometimes cause issues with system settings.
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable, and then uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
- Click Save changes and restart your computer.
4. Reset Network Settings
- A network reset can help clear out any misconfigurations.
- Go to Settings > Network & internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click on Network reset.
- Follow the instructions and restart your computer when prompted.
5. Check for Windows Updates
- Microsoft frequently releases updates that can fix known issues.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click on Check for updates and install any available updates.
6. Use the Command Prompt
Open Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click on Start and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin)).
Run the following commands one by one:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
Restart your computer after running these commands.
7. Check for Hardware Issues
- If the issue persists, it may be a hardware-specific problem with the Airplane mode switch or wireless card.
- Perform a system hardware check using HP Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the Esc key until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F2 to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the tests for the network adapter and wireless card.
