Hi @GURUPRASANA,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're facing issues with your Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIE Wi-Fi adapter and the TAP-Windows Adapter V9 on your HP 15s-fq5111TU laptop. I'll guide you through a series of steps to fix this problem. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Uninstall and Reinstall the Wi-Fi Adapter Driver

Open Device Manager:

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.

Locate Network Adapters:

  • Expand the Network adapters section and find the Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIE adapter.

Uninstall the Wi-Fi Driver:

  • Right-click on the Realtek RTL8822CE adapter and select Uninstall device.
  • Check the box that says Delete the driver software for this device, then click Uninstall.

Reboot the Laptop:

  • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the Wi-Fi adapter.

Download the Latest Drivers:

  • Go to the official HP Support website and download the latest driver for your Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter based on your laptop model.
  • Install the downloaded driver and restart your laptop again.

Step 2: Reset TAP-Windows Adapter V9

The TAP-Windows Adapter V9 is often used by VPNs. To fix issues with this adapter:

  1. Uninstall TAP-Windows Adapter V9:
    • Go back to Device Manager and expand the Network adapters section.
    • Find the TAP-Windows Adapter V9, right-click it, and choose Uninstall device.
  2. Reinstall TAP Adapter (if required by your VPN):
    • If you are using a VPN, reinstall the TAP adapter through the VPN's setup or configuration.

Step 3: Check for Windows Updates

  1. Update Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates to ensure your system has the latest updates installed.

Step 4: Reset Network Settings

If the above steps don’t solve the issue, reset the network settings:

Open Network Reset:

  • Press Win + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Network & Internet > Status.
  • Scroll down and click Network reset.

Restart the PC:

  • After resetting the network, restart your laptop and try reconnecting to Wi-Fi.

Step 5: Disable Power Management for the Adapter

  1. Open Device Manager again.
  2. Right-click on the Realtek RTL8822CE adapter and choose Properties.
  3. Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Step 6: Update BIOS (Optional but Useful)

Sometimes, an outdated BIOS can cause Wi-Fi issues.

Visit HP's Support Page:

  • Download the latest BIOS update for your laptop model.

Install and Restart:

  • Follow the instructions on the HP support site to install the BIOS update and restart your laptop.

Refer to this document: HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y1AV) User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
