Hi @MooreMoore,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 6055 printer being offline and reconnecting it to your new Wi-Fi network, Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist you better:
- How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
- Do you have a dual-band router?
- If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
- May I know if any light blinking on the printer?
- Which operating system you are using Windows or Mac?
- May I know if you can connect other devices to the same network?
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is powered on and that the power light is illuminated.
- Verify that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If you're using a USB connection, ensure that the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and your computer.
Check Printer Status:
- On the printer's control panel, look for any error messages or indicators that might provide clues about why it's offline.
Restart Your Printer:
- Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Make sure that your new Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues.
Reconnect to the new Wi-Fi network: - Use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start software to reconnect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network. Both apps are available for PC and Mac.
Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi:
- Access the printer's control panel and navigate to the settings or network menu.
- Look for the option to set up a wireless connection or Wi-Fi setup wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the password if prompted.
- Once the printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network, it should automatically come online.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for your HP ENVY 6055 printer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
Restart Your Computer:
- Sometimes, restarting your computer can help resolve connectivity issues between your computer and the printer.
Check Firewall and Security Settings:
- Make sure that your firewall or security software isn't blocking the printer's connection to your computer or network.
