ok i am back 😉 got my wifi but modem driver didn't find component and didn't load.  So only items without drivers r ethernet and modem.  I'm running back and forth bet locations so I didn't see ur not to get the string.  I wil have to come back withit a bit ltr.

BUT....THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR ALL OF THE DRIVERS THAT DID WORK AND GOT MY WIFI BACK....GOD BLESS YOU PAUL

its going to take me a couple of hours to get back with ethernet string,  I will try to bring modem string as well

OK;

Try a newer Broadcom driver than the one from the V6000 support page if it is the wireless you are referring to that connects but you can't connect to the internet.

This package contains the Broadcom Wireless LAN Drivers that are required to
enable the integrated Broadcom Wirelss LAN Adapter in supported notebook models
that are running a supported operating system.

ok modem worked, ethernet worked  no ? in my device manager now.   the only thing that doesn't work is "windows update" and I have ie v6.  But that is a windows issue.

I recently installed XP Media Center Edition on an old Dell Dimension 4700 desktop PC I donated to a thrift store.

Windows update worked fine for me with SP3 installed.

You can also see this guide for how to get the latest version of the Windows Update Agent which will be necessary for WU to work properly.

The windows update agent downloaded automatically for me once I was connected to the internet,, but this link will give you the instructions to force the download.

the original link didn't work as listed but i just del the internet explorer 8 part and went to the download section and got my 97 updates including ie 8.
