  1. After receiving my HP Omnibook the Arris combo modem was DOA.  Seen too many refurbished Arris devices on Amazon to stay with that model.
  2. Have since returned and awaiting for full credit to show up on my Amazon account.
  3. My ISP @ Astound stated that they also support Netgear and Motorola.
  4. Need to have an all in one device for wifi 6 or 7,  2 rj45's, docsis 3.1 that is compatible with Windows 11 64-bit.  Any other info left out will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @missthebeach

Since you are looking for a non-Arris Combo Modem/Router that supports DOCSIS 3.1 and Wi-Fi 6 (or higher) and is compatible with Astound Broadband, here are the best recommendations based on Astound's "Bring Your Own Modem" compatibility lists:

Top Recommendation (Netgear - High Performance):

  • Model: Netgear Nighthawk CAX80 (AX6000)

  • Specs: DOCSIS 3.1 + Wi-Fi 6 Router (Combo).

  • Ports: Multi-Gig Ethernet port + 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports (meets your 2 RJ45 requirement).

  • Compatibility: Widely supported by Astound/RCN for Gigabit tiers.

Alternative Recommendation (Motorola):

  • Model: Motorola MG8702 or MG8725

  • Specs: DOCSIS 3.1 + Wi-Fi 6.

  • Why: You mentioned your ISP supports Motorola. The MG series are reliable combo units with excellent range.

Important Notes for Setup:

  1. Verify Regional Support: Before buying, call Astound support with the specific model number. While generally compatible, some specific fiber zones require an ISP-issued ONT/Modem.

  2. Activation: You will need to call Astound or use their online activation portal to register the new modem's MAC Address once you plug it in.
