Hi @srimughi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the network connection icon is not available on your HP Notebook, and you've already tried a network reset without success, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

  1. Check Physical Connections: Ensure that your laptop's Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable is properly connected. If you're using Wi-Fi, make sure the wireless adapter is turned on.

  2. Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart your laptop and see if the network icon reappears.

  3. Check Device Manager:

    • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
    • Look for the "Network adapters" section and expand it.
    • If you see any devices with a yellow triangle or a red X, there may be an issue with the drivers. Right-click on the problematic device and select "Update driver."
  4. Reinstall Network Drivers:

    • In the Device Manager, you can also try uninstalling the network adapter and then restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically.
    • Right-click on the network adapter, choose "Uninstall device," and then restart your laptop.
  5. Check Airplane Mode:

    • Make sure that your laptop is not in Airplane mode. This mode disables all wireless communications.
  6. Check Network Services:

    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog, type "services.msc," and press Enter.
    • Look for services like "WLAN AutoConfig" and "Network Connections." Ensure that these services are running. If not, right-click on them and select "Start."
  7. Network Troubleshooter:

    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    • Run the "Internet Connections" troubleshooter.
  8. System File Checker (SFC) Scan:

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This command will scan and repair corrupted system files.
  9. Check for Windows Updates:

    • Make sure your system is up-to-date. Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve compatibility issues.
  10. Restore to a Previous State:

    • If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when the network icon was working fine.
  11. Check for Malware:

    • Run a full antivirus and anti-malware scan to ensure that your system is not infected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
