Elitebook 2570p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello hp community,I recently purchased a Novatel hp LT2522 LTE/EV-DO mobile broadband wireless card for my ELITEBOOK  2570p laptop, installed it myself and under device manager i can see it listed, however I am unable to find the appropriate drivers from windows update or from the device manufacturer,I have emailed Novatel support, but so far no reply is forthcoming, trawled the net for drivers, but only get ransomware/viruses disguised as drivers! I really would like it to work because using my phone as an internet hotspot is draining my battery, and frequent calls mean browsing interruption, any help towards the right direction is highly appreciated

Hi:

HP never released any W10 drivers for that device.   Support up to W8.1 only.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to either try installing the driver in W8.1 compatibility mode, or manually install the driver.

This package provides the drivers for the Novatel Mobile Broadband modules on supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63282.exe

DEVICES SUPPORTED:
HP lt2522 Mobile Broadband Module
HP lt2523 Mobile Broadband Module

I do not believe that simply double-clicking and running the exe file will work.

thank you so much,I have just installed the drivers and the PC can now detect my SIM card, however another problem  has arisen,I have an active data subscription but cannot connect, this is the message i get  that there is -no network or i am roaming or that my subscription has expiredfrom, but on checkind device manager I can see an exclamation mark on HP MOBILE DATA PROTECTION SENSOR,and on double clicking it-I get this again, and I think it could be the remaining issue!

'The driver for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to help you with connecting to your cellular network.

The other device would have nothing to do with that issue.

See if installing this driver gets the Mobile Data Protection Sensor installed.

This package provides HP 3D DriveGuard for supported computer models that are running a supported operating system. The HP 3D DriveGuard protects the hard drive by parking the heads to reduce the risk of damage if the PC is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object.

See if this driver works...

7.0.2.1 (July 13, 2018) - sp88981.exe

Note: Uninstall at first ANY old version of the driver so that it shows up as an unknown device.

Run the above driver, once done go into the device manager, and manually update the driver here (select the accelerometer.inf in the expanded folder).

To manually install the driver, click on the 3d Driveguard device needing the driver.  Click on the driver tab.

Click on Update driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and then at the bottom of that window, select the 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.'

Click on Have Disk, and browse to C:\SWSetup\sp88981\base\accelerometer (setup information file).

Click next, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

thank you so much for your help and insights, however being an average pc user has made it quite difficult to apply the updates you sent,it also seems that on windows 10,the procdure is different on device manager, because I cannot locate 3D driverguard and any folder containing ' accelerometer.inf ,while I have tried to manually update HP data protection sensor, windows wont let me do this, instead I get a message that windows has determined that it is using the latest drivers, anyway I have realized that this WWAN card is locked to VERIZON so of no use here in my locality,I would really appreciate if anyone can suggest any online shop that sells an UNLOCKED HP LT2522/LT2523 Mobile Broadband WWAN derivatives,as the ones on eBAY are not specified

thanks once again for taking your time

You're very welcome.

If you uninstall the HP mobile data protection sensor, and check the uninstall driver box and restart the PC, you may get the unknown device to show up, and then you may be able to install that driver.
