I have a hp envy x360 2 in 1 15-ey0xxxx. I downgraded from Windows 11 to 10, not realizing my w10 home install doesn't have drivers for WiFi, screen touch, and touch pad.
What do I do? W10 pro? Or give up on w10? I just hate w11.

You're very welcome.
You won't need to buy anything.
You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.
HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Store Apps
But in order to run the tool on your notebook, you will need an internet connection, so if you can provide me the info I requested earlier, I can give you the Wi-Fi driver so you can install the cloud recovery tool and make the bootable USB recovery media.

Hi:
The only driver I can give you for W10 is the Wi-Fi driver.
If Windows update does not install the other drivers you need, you are out of luck.
Before I can give you the Wi-Fi driver since HP could have installed a couple of different model Wi-Fi adapters, I will need some more information from you:
When a Wi-Fi card needs a driver, there will be a device labeled as a Network Controller in the device manager.
Find the Network Controller device and post the hardware ID for it so I can figure out what driver it needs.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:

Thank you so much for helping. Since the touch screen and mouse are also deactivated, maybe I should just go back to W11.
I need to buy a USB drive with installable W11. Can I just purchase any version of W11, or look for a version suitable for this model? (I'll be going to Best Buy).

More problems Paul. I prefer to buy a USB stick with the official MS LOGO and product key so I have official stuff. It's my own quirky way of doing things. But I'm learning I'm not doing something right. I purchased a bootable/installable W11USB stick, home version.
Nothing and I mean nothing is going well. The install procedure goes into an infinite loop, so I had to power off after "install" and unplug everything, then power up. Then it started the process of asking questions for set up and config, but when I got to the screen for WiFi connect, the "next" button is greyed out. So I can't complete setup, no OS. Zilch.
I can't believe things could get this bad, especially since I bought an official W11 stick. Was I supposed to get a certain flavor of W11? Pro? I'd rather overhaul a V8 engine!!! Any advice?

As I wrote earlier, you are missing the Wi-Fi driver which is preventing you from completing the setup.
Read the info at the link below for how to set up Windows with a local account.
How to bypass internet connection to install Windows 11 - Pureinfotech
Then you can install the Wi-Fi driver.
But I can't help you with the Wi-Fi driver unless you provide the hardware ID info I requested yesterday.
Of course, you do have the option of installing the Wi-Fi drivers listed on the support page by trial and error, since you only have two choices.

Hi Paul. I was able to bypass the network install step and get W11 running. Then I looked up the network controller in device mngr, and listed the properties.
Unfortunately there's nothing there, because I bypassed that step. All references in the "Other Devices" folder are null.
I also tried to reinstall as normally, but when I get to the step for connecting to the Internet, the "next" button is greyed out.

Hi, Corey:
The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E adapter.
The Wi-Fi should be working if there are no devices labeled as a Network Controller in the device manager and there should be a MediaTek Wi-Fi adapter listed under the Network Adapters device manager category in the device manager.
This would be the W11 Wi-Fi driver you need for that model adapter:
MediaTek Wireless LAN Driver
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149501-150000/sp149886.exe
You would also need the Bluetooth driver for the Wi-Fi adapter:
MediaTek Bluetooth Driver
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149501-150000/sp149883.exe
If you have no internet, download the Wi-Fi driver from another PC and copy it to a USB flash drive.
Plug the flash drive into your notebook and you can either copy the file to the Windows desktop or run it from the flash drive.
Hopefully, that will get the Wi-Fi to work.
Cheers,
Paul
