Hi @stevebland,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 5020 All-In-One Printer is not pairing with your Android mobile phone via Bluetooth, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Printer and Phone Compatibility

  1. Ensure Compatibility: Verify that both your printer and phone support Bluetooth pairing.

Set Up Bluetooth on Printer

  1. Turn On Bluetooth: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your printer. You can usually do this from the printer's control panel.
  2. Make Printer Discoverable: Set your printer to be discoverable so that your phone can find it. This is typically done through the Bluetooth settings on the printer.

Set Up Bluetooth on Android Phone

  1. Enable Bluetooth: Open the Bluetooth settings on your phone and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
  2. Scan for Devices: Your phone should start scanning for available Bluetooth devices.

Pair the Devices

  1. Select Printer: From the list of available devices, select your HP ENVY 5020 printer.
  2. Enter Passcode: If prompted, enter a passcode (typically 0000 or 1234) to pair the devices.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Restart Devices: Restart both your printer and phone and try the pairing process again.
  2. Reset Bluetooth Settings: Reset the Bluetooth settings on both devices and attempt to pair them again.
  3. Check for Interference: Ensure there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby that might interfere with the pairing process.

Using the HP Smart App

  1. Install HP Smart App: Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your phone.
  2. Add Printer: Open the HP Smart app, tap the plus sign (+) to add a new printer, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your printer via Bluetooth.

Firmware and Software Updates

  1. Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check for updates via the printer’s control panel or the HP website.
  2. Update Phone Software: Ensure your phone's operating system is up to date.

If you have tried all these steps and are still unable to pair your printer with your phone, there may be an issue with the Bluetooth module in one of the devices.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
