Hi, I purchased a refurbished HP pavilion DV7-7008tx laptop, and I experienced a problem, which forced me to reinstall Windows 7 64bit. The problem with this is, I don't have a disc for all the supporting drivers. Even with Windows 7 re-installed, the laptop isn't displaying any internet available (wireless or cable). Could someone please help me in locating the support drivers, so that I can at least try to eliminating software issues? Many thank in advance

Hi:
Here is the link to the support and driver page for your notebook:
Your model uses the Broadcom wireless and bluetooth drivers...
This package contains drivers for the supported Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapters in the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp57501-58000/sp57965.exe
This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver and software for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 devices and is compatible with Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61617.exe
If you need any further help finding drivers after you install the obvious ones, (chipset, graphics, audio, etc), just let me know.

hi Paul,
I'm sorry to bother you again.
After downloading both the sp57965 & sp61617 files, every time I attempt to open the files, I receive the following message, "The contents of this file can not be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again".
I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with both files, and I'm at a lost to why I'm receiving the message.
Regards

Hi:
I'm not having any problem with either file.
Try this and see if it works.
Download and install this free file utility. The 2nd driver at the top of the webpage is for 64 bit.
Re-download and save the files you are having issues with, but do not run them.
Right click on the file and select 7-Zip from the menu.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: And let it extract the file into its folder name.
Once that is done, locate the Setup application in the file folder.
Double click to run that application to install the driver.

My apologies for taking so long to reply.
The link that you posted to winzip has resolved the problem to opening the two files, and now my hp laptop is working as it should be.
I still don't understand, why I wasn't able to open the files with winrar?
Anyway, it doesn't matter now and thank you so much for your help.
Best regards

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Unfortunately, I would have no idea why WINRAR didn't work and 7-Zip did.
I used to use WINRAR all the time, but now that I have found 7-Zip, I have been using that file utility exclusively for several years now.
